Denise's work explores the qualities of mark-making with
layers of tone, texture and colour. She
enjoys the spontaneous and intuitive process of monotype printmaking. When combined with a dry point or polymer
etching plate, this technique allows her to experiment as she works, keeping
the results fresh and often unpredictable.
She exhibits regularly with other printmakers as part of
Bodenpress, a printmaking studio run by Helen Boden in Chesham. In Berkhamsted, she is involved in the team
running The Upstairs Gallery, and also curates the art space in HERE Cafe - a
modern, relaxed setting which lends itself beautifully to showing contemporary
artwork.
