Nicki has lived in the Chilterns for over 30 years and in 2007 she passed the Society of Botanical Artists Diploma Course with credit.

Also in 2007, Nicki exhibited a series of eight paintings at the Royal Horticultural Society’s autumn exhibition held in the Horticultural Halls in Westminster, London. For this she was awarded an RHS Silver-Gilt Medal.

In 2009, Nicki was invited to join the prestigious Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society in Chelsea, London and her work has been accepted for their Archives.

Nicki’s work is held by private collectors, one of whom is Dr. Shirley Sherwood, the foremost collector of contemporary botanical art whose Gallery recently opened in Kew Gardens. Nicki’s painting of Brassica napus was part of the Hidden Treasures exhibition recently held in the Sherwood Gallery in Kew Gardens.

In 2011, Nicki was offered an Associate Membership of the Society of Botanical Artists and her work was exhibited in their annual exhibition held in Westminster Central Hall, London.

Nicki uses artist’s watercolour paints on hot pressed watercolour paper. The vibrant colours from nature are achieved with many thin layers of paint. Nicki is fascinated by the tiny details found in plants and so paints from live subjects. The giclee prints taken from Nicki’s paintings are all presented on museum/archival quality paper.
